About The Hartley/Walbank's of Craven
Please sign in to see more. There are thousands of Hartleys and Walbanks in the ancient district of Craven and the Border Region between Lancashire and Yorkshire. There are lots of Famous ones who, as a child, I believed were part of my heritage. My personal interest and research was originally directed by a desire to connect what i knew as my family to one, or all, of those celebrated individuals. In that regard i have failed.
There are no connections to the Titanic or the Preserve Industry, on this website.
There is however a greater story to be told by the hundreds of ancestors included here. The Farmers and Weavers, The Quarrymen and Shop Keepers, the Tradesmen and Yeomen who, for hundreds of years, contributed to the creation of the landscape and way of life that we know today.
I have to credit particular "Cousins" without the help of which the extent of this tree would be very limited. In Particular extensive research by David Baxter, Ian Sayer, Martin Greaves, Andy Luke and many others is incorporated into this website.
Every genuine genealogist is welcome to share the results of this research and i hope will contribute to its accuracy and continued growth.
